The office of the prime minister has named Asif Ali Khan Durrani as Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the office of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of this nation made the appointment of Mr. Durrani as Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan matters.
Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the appointment of Mr. Durrani to this post on Tuesday, June 2, as made by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
One of Pakistan’s most seasoned diplomats, Mr. Durrani has served as the country’s ambassador to Afghanistan, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates in the past.
He has replaced Mohammad Sadiq, Pakistan’s former special envoy for Afghanistan-related matters. After serving in this capacity for a year, the former Pakistani ambassador to Afghanistan resigned in the month of Hoot the previous solar year.
