Four Pakistani Troops Killed in Terrorist Attack along Pakistan-Iran Border in Baluchistan Province.
Pakistani army reported that a group working from Iran attacked a border patrol, killing four troops in the Kech region. The incident has not been claimed by any organization, and Pakistani officials have informed Iran to prevent such incidents in the future.
This is the second such attack this year, following one in January that killed four security personnel in Balochistan. The assault was claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army, which seeks independence for the mineral- and water-rich province of Balochistan.
Separatist ethnic Baluch nationalist organizations on both sides of the boundary have been battling for a larger share of the region’s resources for decades.
The Baloch people claim that the government discriminates against them, but Pakistani officials deny the allegations.
