Afghan immigrant repatriation challenges; More than 2000 Afghan immigrants from Iran have returned, according to the interim government’s Ministry of Immigrants and Returnees.
CM Asad of the Ministry of Refugees and Returnees of the Islamic Emirate tweeted that 2,482 Afghan refugees entered Afghanistan through the Qala Islam border of Herat province on Asad 29 following the repatriation of Afghan refugees from Iran on Monday.
According to the border commander of Islam Qala, Herat Province, approximately 872 Afghan refugees out of the total 2,482 have been taken to the IMO office to receive aid.
This ministry has not said how many of these individuals entered the nation freely and how many did so under duress.
The government reported yesterday that some 37 Afghan refugees have returned home after serving one to six months in Pakistani jails.
Government officials in Pakistan and Iran have previously detained, assaulted, and imprisoned a number of Afghan immigrants due to their lack of valid visas.
The challenge of unemployment and issues in the residence sector in the two neighbouring countries of Afghanistan, on the other hand, have led to the voluntary return of a number of immigrants to Afghanistan despite the serious humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and the rise in poverty that has increased migration from this country.
