According to Turkish officials, more than 3,200 illegal Afghan migrants have been sent back to their country since January 2023.

In the first three months of 2023, more than 3,277 Afghan refugees were deported to the nation, according to a statement from the Turkish interior ministry.

Over a thousand undocumented Afghan migrants have reportedly been kicked out of the country in the previous four days, according to the statement.

Ezatullah Sadaat, the chairman of the Afghan organisation in Turkey, said, “Those who previously worked in the former government, or they are journalists, or they worked as civil employees, the Turkish refugee’s agency is processing their cases.”

The 365 recently deported illegal immigrants from Turkey—138 on Saturday and 277 on Sunday—arrived in Kabul through Afghan aircraft from Aghra City, according to Turkish media on Monday.

Out of the 124,441 unlawful migrants that entered Turkey over the previous year, about 68290 Afghan people were deported, according to Turkish media reports.

Most Afghan refugees have migrated to neighbouring countries including Iran, Pakistan, and Turkey after the Taliban regained control, either for economic reasons or to fear persecution by the de facto government.

The majority of Afghan immigrants decide to do so. After months of uncertainty, they have finally arrived at their goal, but now they must live in continuous danger of being forcibly deported and imprisoned.

Other causes of illegal migration can include include a lack of unemployment and a country’s economy deteriorating.

According to Turkish authorities, more than 30,500 unregistered Afghan migrants have been located, of whom 18,000 have through the deportation procedure.
