According to Badakhshan’s local officials, the province’s Faiz Abad district fire cost more than one million afghanis in damages.

In a statement released on Sunday, the 26th, the Badakhshan Police Command said that the incident occurred yesterday in the Faizabad city neighbourhood of “Akhr Guldan” during the province’s holiday decorations. A fire started in two stores.

The source said that the fire spread to the other stores at that point, resulting in more than one million dollars in losses.

The incident, according to the its initial release, resulted in the total destruction of the store’s inventory but left no one hurt.

The fire crew arrived at the scene shortly after the incident occurred and put out the flames.

Though we haven’t determined the primary cause of this fire yet, the province’s officials have already initiated an investigation.

Prior to this, during the same occurrence, a fire in Kunduz city’s mall area resulted in a monetary loss of more than 3 million afghanis.
