Local Faryab Province sources state that six persons, including two women, were sentenced by the Islamic Emirate’s Supreme Court for having extramarital relationships.
According to the information from the source, the Faryab Provincial Court yesterday flogged four men and two women. After accusing them of engaging in extramarital affairs and drinking alcohol.
The Islamic Emirate carried out these punishments, referred to as “Sharia,” in full view of the public at the Faryab Provincial Court’s general office. Maulvi Abdul Ghani (Saeed), the general head of the Marafeh Court of this province, declared that the execution of such punishments was “God’s blessing.” in response
According to the Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate. They reportedly started a “meeting” on this occasion and acknowledged the application of “Sharia punishments” to 4 males and 2 women.
Human rights advocates and organizations supporting human rights have strongly condemned the Islamic Emirate’s continued “carrying out of sharia punishments” or public shaming of individuals for different charges. In certain cases, they have taken action against it, describing it as “regressive” and “hateful.”
International law and developed nations see some behaviours as personal acts. Such as engaging in extramarital affairs and abusing alcohol, and no official agency or power structure has the authority to investigate or penalise an individual who has engaged in these behaviours.
