In order to expedite the Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India TAPI gas pipeline project ‘s work and complete the feasibility study as soon as feasible, Pakistan and Turkmenistan inked a joint implementation plan (JIP) on Thursday, according to sources.
Maksat Babayev, the state minister of Turkmenistan and the head of TurkmenGas, and Dr. Musaddiq Malik, the minister of state for petroleum of Pakistan, both signed the joint execution plan.
At the signing ceremony, which took place on June 8 in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior government figures were present.

Rumors suggest that the JIP plans to establish the Senior Coordination Committee (SCC) in order to accelerate and direct project activities.
At the Senior Coordination Committee of the megaproject, Prime Minister Sharif designated Special Assistance Jehanzeb Khan to serve as a focal point for Pakistan.
The Pakistani PM stated during his conversation with the Turkmen team that the successful completion of the TAPI gas pipeline project will provide energy security and regional economic prosperity.
He said that there are many things in common between Turkmenistan and Pakistan and that both countries are eager to strengthen their economic and commercial relationships.
PM Sharif emphasized the need to finish the TAPI gas pipeline as soon as possible, highlighting the importance of implementing the massive project swiftly.
