Four new features are being made available to users by Meta-owned WhatsApp to improve and streamline their experience.
WaBetaInfo lists the new features as being able to block unknown calls, community access points, mention groups within community announcement groups, and message editing.
Beta testers now have access to the new features, but more people will get them in the upcoming weeks.
Silence unknown callers
By blocking unknown callers, the instant messaging programme gives users more control over the calls they receive. By selecting calls under the privacy section of the settings menu, users can activate this capability.
People might minimize spam calls with the use of this function, increasing their privacy and security.
Group mentions
The community administrators can mention certain groups in the community announcement group thanks to this capability. This would enable them to draw attention to the groupings while communicating with community members.
Community entry point
With the addition of this new button to the header, users will be able to open community groups straight from the community announcement group.
Additionally, by hitting that button, the community’s founder may rapidly form a group from the menu that displays, according to the app-tracking website.
Editing messages
Some WhatsApp users may now change text messages within 15 minutes after sending them, which is a great addition.
WaBetaInfo states, “We have set this limit to maintain the integrity of the conversation, preventing long-term modifications of messages.” The primary purpose of the message editing option is to rectify typos.
Users can modify messages as many times as they like, but they are unable to change a message that has already been sent from another device.
Those who install the most recent WhatsApp beta for iOS version will get access to these upgrades. Some of them are also on the beta version of Android.
