ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has asked regional researchers and scholars to submit applications for the Research Awards competition 2023 in an effort to support high-impact publications, acknowledge research achievement, and foster intellectual growth.

According to reward classifications, there will be three divisions in which awards will be given: Best Researcher, Best Young Researcher, and Best Publication. (with special emphasis to submit research publications on the constitution of Pakistan in view of the Golden Jubilee of 1973 Constitution of Pakistan).

Well-placed sources who shared the qualifying requirements said that the candidate had never been put on HEC’s blacklist and had never previously been given the same prize.

As per HEC’s policy on plagiarism, none of the papers listed on the applicants’ or writers’ credit were plagiarised.

On the other hand, in order to be eligible for the “Best Researcher” title, the candidate must have lived in Pakistan for at least three years as of January 1, 2023.

But in order to be eligible for the Best Young Researcher award, a candidate must be under 40 and have lived in Pakistan for at least a year as of January 1, 2023.

According to HEC, the work must be an academic book or journal piece that was released no more than three years prior to January 1, 2023, and it can only have three writers who have lived in Pakistan for at least three years as of that date.

According to the sources, research papers must only be published in HEC Journal Recognition System (HJRS) W-category journals and have a minimum of 100 citations.

Publications that have already been filed for the same prize category, including extended versions of papers, cannot be submitted again. whereas, a reputable scholarly publisher must print books.

According to the reports, applications for the challenge must be filed through the HEC online site by April 26 (Wednesday).
